“Tragic Loss of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Member Nneka Odili Following a Train Accident in Ikeja, Lagos”

Nneka Odili, a dedicated member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), passed away last Thursday due to severe injuries sustained when a train struck her in Ikeja, Lagos.

The heartbreaking incident occurred as Nneka, affectionately known as Nini, was returning home after the monthly clearance exercise at the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat. Eyewitnesses revealed that she was wearing headphones and did not hear the train’s horn as she attempted to cross the railway tracks. She was promptly taken to a nearby hospital but, sadly, did not survive.

Nneka had pursued her education, specializing in Home Economics at the Federal College of Education, Technical, Omoku, Rivers State, and later studying Human Kinetics at the University of Port Harcourt.

Addressing the misleading reports, a family member named Tammy Orunaboka clarified that Nneka did not possess or use a sophisticated phone at the time of the accident.

In a touching Facebook post, her colleague Abubakar Rukayat recounted Nneka’s last moments. She emphasized the importance of using earpieces cautiously and shared that Nneka’s final words were “BLOOD OF JESUS” as she struggled with her injuries. May Nneka Odili’s soul find eternal peace. Amen.
