Here is what really happened: according to daily post news and information gathered by Naijapalaba, Pakistani police reported on Saturday that a man is facing a murder charge for allegedly shooting and putting to rest the admin of a community WhatsApp group after he was removed from the chat.

The victim, identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, was reportedly shot and killed on Thursday evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which shares a border with Afghanistan and has a history of sectarian violence. Police documents indicate that a man named Ashfaq has been charged with the murder.

According to a statement from Mushtaq’s brother, the incident occurred after Mushtaq had removed Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group following an argument. The two had agreed to meet to resolve their differences, but Ashfaq allegedly arrived armed and fatally shot Mushtaq. The statement suggests that Ashfaq’s actions were fueled by anger over being expelled from the group.

Reports suggest that factors such as the easy availability of firearms, the influence of tribal customs, and occasionally weak law enforcement contribute to the recurrence of such incidents.
