Amodu discloses that the fire was put out following the combined efforts of the Lagos state fire service and the federal service stationed at Festac A fire outbreak reportedly occurred in Festac Town, Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, March 21, barely one week after a fatal explosion at the Abule Ado area of the state.
The latest incident was said to have occurred at L Close, 7th Avenue in Festac Town around 2 am, Premium Times reports.
Shakiru Amodu, the spokesperson of Lagos state fire service said shanty buildings in the area were engulfed by the fire. He said the careless handling of combustible materials led to the fire outbreak.
Amodu stated that the fire was put out following the combined effort of the Lagos state fire service and the federal service stationed at Festac.
The elderly woman lost three children, adults, to the Sunday, March 15, explosion that rocked a part of Lagos bringing down houses and causing serious grief among families. One of the children, according to The Cable, was preparing for a wedding ceremony.
Another just returned from London to because of the marriage that was on top gear. The wedding was supposed to hold on Saturday, March 21.

The reality is still hanging in the air as she was said to have exclaimed: “Oh, Lord!!! This is unbearable.
It’s too much for me!” Sympathizers who had thronged to where she was on the floor asking rhetorical questions would also have found it hard to contain their emotions as the woman rolled on parts of the debris caused by the explosion. For Amaka, the world has crumbled and all that she had worked for have disappeared just like that.
