Tottenham Hotspur Dele Alli express regrets over Coronavirus “joke”

England international Dele Alli has expressed his regrets following a post he shared on social media about coronavirus, he said “I let myself down and the club”

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder appeared to mock an Asian man after he joked about the outburst following his video on Snapchat.

The outburst of the deadly virus has resulted in some negative cases with over 40,000 infected worldwide and had let to more than 900 deaths in China.

He released a new video apologizing on the Chinese social media platform Weibo after he had deleted the previous one he posted on Snapchat.

“It wasn’t funny and I realized that immediately and took it down. I let myself down and the club”, said the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

It isn’t something that should be joked about. I’m sending all my love and all my thought and prayers to everyone in China.

The video showed him wearing a face mask in an airport lounge, before swinging the camera to show a man of Asian appearance, then zooming in on a bottle of antiseptic and hand wash.

Following the outbreak of the virus, the Uk government has reported the virus to be a “serious and imminent threat” to public health with more than 40,000 cases all over the world and resulting in more than 900 death in China.
