Shocking: Nicki Minaj’s brother sentenced to 25 years – Rapes Stepdaughter

Jelani Maraj was known as the first convicted of predatory sexual assault and child endangerment in November 2017.

Maraj’s victim had said in a 2015 trial that she was repeatedly raped by Maraj while her mother was at work.

Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against his stepdaughter and was sentenced by Nassau County Supreme Court Judge, Robert McDonald on Monday.

Maraj denied the allegations claiming the story was concocted to extort his famous younger sister.

The 41-year-old is the older brother of international rapper and singer Nicki Minaj.

He appealed his conviction but it was rejected by the judge.

Prosecutors said that DNA evidence linked to Maraj was found on the girl’s pyjama bottoms.

The girl said that it happened up to four times a week and sometimes twice a day – her younger brother also spoke during the trial claiming that he witnessed one of the assaults.

The judge said, “you ruined this child by raping her over and over again.”

In his defence, his lawyer read a 2016 letter Minaj wrote in a bid to reduce his time behind bars, calling him the most patient, gentle, genuine, giving selfless Man.

Meanwhile Naijapalaba.com gardered that the accused pleaded for ‘mercy’ stating that he would like to apologize for the pain that he caused.

Maraj’s attorney asked for the minimum sentence of 10 years to life, and says they plans to appeal the judge’s decision.

Maraj asked for a second chance in court on Monday – he said he was suffering from an alcohol problem and his attorney claims he was suffering from other health issues like hypothermia, gout and anaemia.
