In other to enable civil servants to register, revalidate and collect their permanent voter’s card (PVC), The Yobe State Government declared three working free days to all workers.
The declaration followed an approval granted by the State Governor, Mai Mala Buni as contained in a circular dated 27th June, 2022 with reference number GO/S/HOS/GEN/3/T.II signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Bilal Garba.
According to the circular, The government declared June 29 to 1st of July, 2022 has work free days, to allow civil servants travel to their respective local government areas to register, revalidate and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card.
According to Bilal Garba, he said: “This is because of the importance the State Government attached to the on-going voters’ registration exercise currently going on nationwide.
“It is hoped that the civil servants would reciprocate this good gesture by ensuring that they participate in the exercise.”
In other news, The State government declared Friday June 24, a work free day to enable civil servants that have not collected their permanent voters cards to do so ahead of the governorship election which is scheduled to hold in Osun state on July 16.
In a statement released on Thursday June 23 by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji noted that the residents need their PVC to perform their civic responsibility.
The state government also said it does not want people to miss out on the opportunity of exercising their constitutional right.
“The Government of Osun State acknowledges the importance of workers in the democratic process, and is aware that the only way workers can give life to their aspiration for a worker-friendly government is through their votes.
“Consequently, Friday, June 24, has been declared a work-free day in all government offices across the state, to enable all public and civil servants pick their PVC so they can perform their civic duty.”
