Police arrest 3 soldiers involved in robbery

Ghanaian police has arrested three soldiers who were involved in a recent robbery.

The said soldiers are identified as Yinsabilik Gabriel, Elikem Adams and Asiedu Stanley, reportedly participated in a robbery operation which took place at Nsakina near Amasaman in Ghana on June 4, 2022.

The police report indicates that the four suspect, scaled a wall into the residence of the complainant and robbed him and his friends of 8 different mobile phones, and forced him to transfer ?850 to a registered MTN number bearing the name Gabriel Yinsabilik.

Preliminary investigation led to the identification of the three military personnel, who were arrested by the military police and handed over to the Amasaman District CID.

In other news, The list of Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders that were gunned down during an operation carried out by Nigerian troops in collaboration with Multinational joint Task Force operatives few weeks ago.

Soldiers reportedly stormed the camp of the terrorists, which harboured more than 3,000 fighters of the Abubakar Shekau’s faction of Boko Haram. This led to a gun battle which lasted for more than 3 hours.

A source told Daily Trust; “Two terrorists were captured alive. During their testimonies, they confessed that the camp was led by top commanders led by one Abu Ikilima.

Three Khayds (governors), three Munzul (commanding officers), 1 Nakib (commander) of the Boko Haram as well as several other fighters were neutralised.”
