
Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated and presented the chairman of the National Electoral Commission(INEC) Mahmood Yakubu for his second term in his office
Special Adviser to Buhari on his media and Publicity Femi Adesina has disclosed this information on Mahmood Yakubu in his statement on Tuesday.

Naijapalaba has gathered that in Yakubu’s statement his nomination was made in a letter to the senate.
The letter has read to “Ahmad Lawan” the president of the senate, he said in accordance with the provision
of Section 154 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), “I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate, the nomination of Professor Mahmood Yakubu for appointment as Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a second and final term.”
Prof Yakubu was first appointed by President Buhari in November 2015.
