Ibrahim Magu EFCC Acting Boss, Detained Overnight as Questioning Continues

Ibrahim Magu who happens to be the Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission “EFCC” was allegedly held captive at police force headquarters overnight in Abuja as he was been questioned late at night by the presidential panel.

Ibrahim was questioned on the allegation of abuse of office impunity and corruption by a presidential panel led by the former President of the Court of Appeal, Ayo Salami after his arrest on Monday in Abuja

According to a report by Cable, the EFCC boss “Ibrahim Magu” was interrogated by the panel until 10 pm on Monday before he was ordered to be detained overnight for questioning to continue on Tuesday.

Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Magu over very weighty allegations -Attorney General of the Federation ‘Abubakar Malami’ said.

Some of these allegations include;

  • inconsistency in the settlement records of the EFCC on recovered funds

  • Disclosing  investigative reports to the media before going to court

  • Sale of seized assets to cronies, associates, and friends

  • Shortage of N35 billion in his announcement  of recovered funds

  • disobedience to the AGF

  • Not providing enough shreds of evidence for the deportation of Diezani Alison-Madueke

  • disregard court order to unfreeze an N7 billion judgment in favor of a suspect
