An unknown man whose age should be around 60 years took his own life at Gaida Yankusa in Kumbotso’s Local Government Area of Kano State.
The resident of the area gave the information that they saw the man’s body hanging on the tree while they were on their way to the mosque to observe morning prayer on Wednesday, April
Speaking to Daily Trust, Laminu Abubakar a resident of Yankusa, said they untied the man and had done everything possible to identify him but to no, it didn’t work out.
“We just came out and saw the corpse hung to the tree, We couldn’t identify who he was and where he came from. He’s an elderly person, he looks responsible and shows no sign of poverty. Maybe some other issues. His hair is full of grey hair from his head to his beard,” he said
According to the information gathered the deceased body had been taken by the policemen and the district head of Kumbotso to the mortuary at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
Confirming the incident, In late Wednesday, the Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa sent a voice note and said the police received the report of the tragedy around 9 am and immediately a team of police was mobilized to the scene.
